Got up early this morning to make my reservation at exactly 11 months out. Got 7 nights in a Value Studio at Animal Kingdom Villas - Jambo House. I need to add one night, which I can do tomorrow.

Even though it's nearly a year away, it's fun to make the reservation. It's actually spurring me to think about doing a better Trip Report and/or home movie from our October 2011 trip.

Also, in case you were unaware, the Value Studio at AKV-Jambo is the best value on property (IMHO). In late August, weeknights are 10 points and weekends are 13 points. If you equate a point to $10, then paying $100/night Sun-Thu is ridiculous.

The Value Studio is a converted standard hotel room, so it's three feet shorter (approx. 33 sq ft smaller). But you have a 60% chance at a Savanna View and a 20% chance of a pool view. They go fast though, with only 8 dedicated studios and 10 lockoffs. That's why you have to book at exactly 11 months or risk disappointment.

So, to sum up, WOOHOO!!!

Making that reservation at 11 months is always exciting! I almost got a Value 2BR at 7 months for April - one of three nights was not available. I knew it was a long shot at 7 months, but I had to try since it is such a good deal for a 2BR.

Yes, I agree with you on the "value" of the value studios. That's why we're looking for a small add-on at AKV. Last week I stayed in a savannah studio because a value studio wasn't available and although value studios are a little smaller, the difference wasn't noticeable-my savannah studio didn't seem any bigger.

Yeah for us and our 110 point contract it's the difference between 1 week per year or 3 weeks over 2 years. The risk of not getting a savanna view is far outweighed by the extra week.
