Any recent SDD RD reports?

I'm wondering about the sidewalk in front of Starbucks. It used to be off limits, but in Josh's last article on DHS RD the sidewalk was in use.

he's right
If I remember the article correctly, it is both off limits and was in use that day (i.e. Guests were ignoring the CMs once the crowd started moving.) YMMV?

That was my read too - it’s off limits but guests ignored that instruction.

I noticed that when we were last there. Additionally, people were "hiding" in the Starbucks exit (facing the old wait time board area) and as soon as the crowd was allowed to move they piled out of the exit, used the sidewalk in front of HBD to get ahead.

It seems to be one of those "we'll ask you not to but won't enforce it" things.

Same with the runners. Used to be people would "gazelle" but now they just flat out sprint to Pandora past the CMs yelling "WALK PLEASE, NO RUNNING" but since there's no penalty (other than potentially falling on the wet pavement) lots of people do it.

I've seen that, too.

What do you mean?
by SDD RD and using the sidewalk in front of Starbucks?
I can tell you that I was at HS this past week, for EMM, and at Starbucks at the end of EMM. I came out the door on to the sidewalk and people were using the sidewalk. There was even a CM there checking for EMM access at that point, as the main non-EMM crowd was standing around waiting to get in but we could pass on. I scanned back in and went to the bathroom, leaving DGD to get our order. I got back just as they'd let the crowd in and at that point, people were able to go anywhere they wanted. We were seating there at the exit across from the old wait time board and watched everything scatter while we ate. Thinking how disappointed they were going to be when they found out both SDD and ToT were down (which is why we were at Starbucks eating and not riding)

The sidewalk used to be off limits for the RD crowd, but based upon recent observations/reports, it's either open or the CM's have given up telling people to stay off.

Update. We did the SDDD (Slinky Dog Dash Dash) yesterday. They have a new internal holding spot, further up Hollywood Blvd, past Sunset, pretty much at the old ride board. We were right up front, and early. The CM there told us that they're testing various RD procedures in anticipation of the Star Wars crowds. He did say that the sidewalk by Starbucks is off limits, but they can't stop large crowds of guests who ignore the "please get off the sidewalk" requests.
