Does Geyser Point allow CS dining credits?

Hi all,
I have searched for this but found only vague info.
If we want to use Counter Service Dining Plan credits at GP, do we have to do take out?

I know it is a “hybrid” location with 2 different menus, correct? Can someone who has been there recently walk me through it?

“...explain it to me like I’m 5” (My kids can’t stop watching The Office on Netflix this summer.)

Thanks!

We were there in Feb 2018, so things may have changed since then. Based on our experience at that time, if you are sitting in the bar area and a bartender or waiter is taking your order and brining you food and drink you are ordering off a menu you are holding in your hands, you CANNOT pay with counter service dining credits. There is a walk up counter service adjacent to the bar/lounge area with its own menu and mug refill station where you can pay with counter service credits. We ordered at that counter service area and took our food to an empty table in the bar area, got some frowns and looks like we just took our brown bag lunch from home and sat down in a restaurant, so we ordered some drinks from the waiter who passed by. Later in the trip, there was a hostess actually seating people in the bar area.

I was planning on going to Geyser Point a couple of weeks ago, but the seating process is always through a hostess now and you can't get ADRs, so you have to get transportation over there before you can even know how long of a standby wait there will be (and apparently, there's always a wait), so we skipped it.

FWIW, it was never super busy when I was there last February, but it was the first week of the month and a relatively slow time.

Yes. Felt so bad about it that we went back the next night with a group and ran up quite a bill for food and drink and added an extra tip. We had the same server as our brown bag day.
That was nice of you, and I’m sure they appreciated it.

I'm guessing that isn't the worst thing they've seen or experienced working there!! That was nice of you to go back.

Thank you for your responses! It sounds like it was a little confusing, at least before the hostess. I also feel like it has changed somewhat since it has first opened.
Maybe we will go refill our mugs and get a feel for it all before we decide to get food there or not. TBH the atmosphere was as much of a draw as the food, so I’m not sure that we would eat there if we had to get take out. If it really looked good, we might have apps/drinks at the bar maybe.

It’s been a while since I’ve been on the boards, but I have an update to this. We stayed at WL Aug 2019 and visited GP twice. You were allowed to sit and be served inside the restaurant and use QS credits! We loved it there and thought it was an excellent value using the QS credits. (Plus tip, of course.)
We did the take out section once, but preferred the inside seating. The menus are similar, but take out is much more limited.
