What's for dinner?

I'm jealous of all the folks on the "What are you drinking?" thread, because I hardly ever drink booze, and how boring is saying "lemon water" or "coffee w milk/sugar"?

But I figure we've got people from all over the world here... different cultures and cuisines.. why not say what we're eating/what's for dinner? Doesn't matter if you made it yourself/ordered in/are eating out. I think it might be pretty interesting...

So, I'll have a go...

Lamb chops in an orange juice/soy sauce marinade; mushroom risotto made with jasmine rice; and steamed veggies...

Great idea for a thread!

In fact, I was just thinking about dinner. The kids are at the Grandparents and the wife and I are going to see Gravity tonight, but we have had zero discussions about dinner. We did go out to a fancy dinner and a play last night with friends, so my guess, we will want to eat in tonight.

Maybe I will offer to cook and prepare chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, biscuits and a tossed salad. I don't prepare many meals but I know how to make each of those items (although my wife makes better biscuits than me).

You had me at "offer to cook"...

After that, you could have said chicken fried cardboard and grass clippings, and I wouldn't care... sounds good to me!

(Don't get me wrong... I love cooking... but it's nice when someone else takes a turn...)

A biscuit baking man? Swoon..

I'm too tired too cook so it will probably be salami sandwiches for dinner.

Although I did just buy the ingredients for onigiri (rice balls) so i might make those so I can snack tommorrow at rehearsal.

Edit:
Kami-mushroom risotto sounds heavenly.

My son will marry you! He loves nothing more than a salami, cheese and Prego sandwich...

BBQ pork chops, Mac n' cheese, steamed broccoli, corn muffins
Yummy! I do something different with my mac n' cheese.. boil and drain pasta, toss with shredded cheese, put in a baking pan. Mix together spices, eggs, and milk; and pour that over the pasta. Bake until the runny stuff sets. Works great with the long macaroni (as opposed to elbows), and sometimes I add in veggies instead of having them separate...

Burgers on the grill, pasta salad, cole slaw, and ice cream for dessert. I'm in a world where summer still exists in my head.

Soup. I spent the week sick, then felt better, then went out last night and to a wine fest today. The booze knocked me down and back to basic foods I go....

Pie...pumpkin and cherry. Been back from the World a week and my eating is still whack! Bad news is that I'm not walking 8-9 miles a day in the parks. Must.Eat.Veggies.Soon.

does anybody know how to change this?
Great topic! Although I won't have much to add, since we have such weird eating habits. For instance, tonight it's rice with roasted veggies drizzled with our favorite 25-year-old balsamic.

Steamed clams with Tabasco and drawn butter, steamed shrimp with Old Bay seasoning along with cocktail sauce (heavy horseradish). Salad and a bottle of chardonnay. :RpS_thumbup:

Super healthy at our house-pigs in a blanket, Mac and cheese, green beans and salad. We needed a quick dinner since we spent all afternoon swimming at the YMCA. I think the crescent rolls negated the exercise.

The good people at Stouffer's made our dinner tonight. I'm not feeling all that great so I went with option B. Option A was to not feed my family at all. :RpS_wink:

It is going to be leftover night (like in the Incredibles), so baked spaghetti, pot roast, mashed potatoes, enchilada casserole, roast chicken, sandwiches, green beans, corn, hashbrown casserole and corn bread.

I have also thrown brats and a picnic shoulder on the smoker, but those are for eating later in the week.
